Create a Culture of Greatness

Why we need to invest in our partners. This power point is to make us understand why we need to create a culture of greatness where we expect great things to happen. Imagine Haeger as a big football team. As Jon Gordon says, you win in the locker room before you win on the field. This means that we must win at staying positive and being the best at our job before we can win in the market. Before our company can hit the numbers we want, we must create a culture of greatness that empowers our partners to be passionate about their work and build a solid foundation.

WHAT IS A CULTURE OF GREATNESS ? A culture of greatness is a place where we expect great things to happen, where we expect the best of our partners, and where we empower and coach our partners to be their best.

OPTIMISM ONE OF THE KEY FEATURES OF A CULTURE OF GREATNESS IS OPTIMISM. WHERE ALL PARTNERS TEND TO LOOK ON THE MORE FAVORABLE SIDE OF EVENTS AND EXPECT THE MOST FAVORABLE OUTCOME VERSUS COMPLAINING ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES. “ Negativity is the biggest problem in business today.”

PASSION YOU MUST ALSO HAVE PASSION TO BE THE BEST IN YOUR WORKPLACE. BE WILLING TO OUT WORK EVERYONE ELSE. SET YOURSELF A GOAL AND ONCE YOU ACHIEVE IT, SET IT HIGHER. “ I will not be outworked” -Will Smith

HUMBLE AND HUNGRY

Where do we ?

What tools do we use? The No Complaining Rule: There are two kinds of complaining, the first type does not help anyone with anything and only gets people upset. The second suggests that when people need to complain, they should go to their manager and bring at least two solutions along with their complaint. I would like to recommend that we create a complaint form for partners to fill out along with two possible solutions. These complaint forms should be reviewed monthly and follow-up on the progress should be given monthly.

THERE ARE ALSO MANY BOOKS THAT HELP These books help in keeping partners motivated. I would suggest we make it mandatory for partners to read or listen to a book once a month. We should start off with the “No Complaining Rule”. Then, we as leaders, would talk with our partners each month about the book and what they had learned.

KNOW OUR CURRENT CULTURE We must build our workplace with people who fit our culture. We need to learn from past experiences by finding the right characteristics for a specific position. For an example, a service partner must be willing to travel. A partner in inside sales should be optimistic, cheerful, and helpful. Equally important, most of the best people in the business are lifelong learners. We need to look at our current partners and determine if they meet our culture standards and decide if we can get them on the right path or not. We should also add in a probationary period for new partners we hire.

CREATE ENGAGED RELATIONSHIPS Create engaged relationships If we are to create a culture of greatness, we must also create engaged relationships. An important part of an engaged relationship is to communicate with your partners. Give them sincere appreciation, tell them thank you often. And we as leaders must communicate every day.

WHAT STOPS YOU FROM COMMUNICATING?

Busyness Being too busy is one of the problems that get in the way of creating relationships Stress Stress is another main obstacle in creating relationships.

How do we overcome ? If you take time to build relationships you will find yourself becoming less stressed. When you get stressed you go into survival mode where you are not concerned about anyone else.

KEY POINTS 1 Create a culture of greatness. 2 Improved communication with our partners. 3 Give partners a way to complain effectively. 4 Create probationary periods for new hires. 5 Infuse your team with passion! 6 Be humble and hungry!
