Solve Percent Problems Lesson 2.8 Problems with Percent

We can see that 25% and 10 line up when the total of the number line is STOP! Let’s talk about the values we have before discussing the number lines. We are told that some amount has been broken into fourths. We are also told that 10 is equal to one of those fourths. The number line hs 4 sections on it. The first section marks the 10. This lines up with 25%, or 1 out of 4 sections on the % line.

The % line is divided into increments of 25% each. How were the increments found for the bottom line????? part 90 songs filled 3 out of 4 sections, so ?? 30

I am choosing to use the fraction 6/10 for 60% Splitting the 300 into 10 sections would give 30 in each section. The 300 has to be the total of the 6 sections. Peyton had a total of $500 before she bought the tv.

Correctly identifying the “is” and “of” words will make this VERY simple. Remind me to show you a neat way to find the missing number if you can’t see the scaling. Don’t you dare think “200.” ÷ 2 50

Personally, I cannot readily see what 75 was multiplied by to get 225. I do, however, know a solving step that makes it easier. I know that if I multiply 225 (100) and divide by 75, I will get the solution! x

The statement would be: 15 is 5% of what number? = 5 x 3 = 3 x

Let’s find the sentence that will give us the proportion. $4200 is 20% of the value. = 20 x 210 = 100 x ,

You can use a percent proportion to find the missing part of the proportion by using equivalent ratios. You can also make a double number line to find the missing whole amount.
