Required Training  To Start off you need a Bachelor's Degree, but before that you have to include mathematics, life and physical science, and engineering and design courses.  To earn a degree it usually takes up like four years but students usually take up to four to five years to earn there degrees.  Some colleges offer a five-year program that allows their students to obtain both their bachelor’s and master’s degree.

Job Outlook  Employment of mechanical engineers is projected to grow 5 percent from 2012 to 2022, slower than the average for all occupations.
