Mrs. Brandi Glenn Business Technology Applications Grissom High School

 My room is Room #D4  Treat the room, tables, chairs, and all contents with respect. Respecting the room means cleaning up after yourself, not defacing property, and using the chairs and tables in the proper way.

 I teach High School Essentials and Business Technology Applications this year.  I graduated from Auburn University ~ War Eagle!  I am married and have 2 sons.  I love technology and learning.  In my opinion, Business Education is so important, because 99% of all students will work one day. Students will use the skills learned in this course for the rest of their lives.

 Best way to contact me  Office hours: 6 th period planning, before/after school upon request  School Telephone Number: ask for Mrs. Glenn’s voic or leave a message and I will return the call.

 Business Organization  Career Development  Communications  Economic and Personal Finance  Information Systems  International Business  Keyboarding  Management  Marketing  Microsoft Applications ◦ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access  Multimedia

Tests, major labs, portfolio, and team projects will make up 60% of your grade. Class work & other daily assignments will make up 40% of your grade = A = B = C = D

 Most poor grades are a result of not turning in class work or homework. Therefore, it is important that you do not miss assignments for any reason. If you do miss an assignment, follow the procedure for turning in late work described later in this presentation.  I am available by request for remediation or tutoring.

 R.I.S.E. to the occasion ---always. ◦ Respect ◦ Integrity ◦ Soundness ◦ Excellence  Follow All School Policies & Procedures

 Be in your assigned seat, logged in and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.  Stay in your seat unless you have the teacher’s permission to be up.

 Bring ALL materials (laptop, class notebook, pen, anything else needed for class) to class every day, and take them with you when you leave.  Keep cell phones and other electronic devices turned off (silenced)and put away.

 Be respectful of the teacher and your fellow students, as well as the entire learning environment.

 Follow ALL procedures and policies as outlined by the GHS and the Huntsville City student handbooks.

 A stress-free classroom atmosphere  Verbal and written acknowledgement  An enjoyable learning environment

 1 st : Verbal or Nonverbal Warning  2 nd : Guideline Infraction Notice and/or detention (depends on nature of infraction)  3 rd : Parental contact and/or disciplinary referral to administration

 Don’t make a fuss (you’ll have time to discuss it with me later)  Read It  Sign It  Return it & see me at the end of class.

Please CORRECT your behavior and return to task. See me after class!  Any student that uses profanity, violence, is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher), or damages school property (this includes the property of teacher or other students) will be sent to an administrator at the teacher’s discretion.

 Enter quietly.  Sit in your assigned seat.  Take out your materials for this class only and put them on your desk.  Quietly begin working on the bell work assignment.

 Enter quietly.  Excused: place excuse in my IN BOX on my desk.  Unexcused: Complete a Guideline Infraction Notice.  Have a seat, take out your materials and get on task as quickly and quietly as possible.

 Your homework should be turned in electronically or to your block’s homework box.  The homework box will be available as you enter the classroom, and will be “closed” shortly after the tardy bell rings.  Do not crowd the homework box, there should not be more than 2 or 3 people near the box, turn your work in quietly, and promptly go back to your seat, and continue your bell work assignment.

Oooops Missing Work Pink Sheet Date/Block:_______________________ Name:____________________________ Assignment:______________________ I do not have my assignment because: __ ABSENT __ I did it & left it at home __ I forgot __I was too sick __ I didn’t have the materials __ I chose not to __ other___________ SIGN __________________________ & turn in to the homework box

 Obtain missing assignments from another student in your class or see me after class. Keep up your assignment log!  If an assignment is due while you are out, it is expected to be turned in with a pink sheet into the make-up bin at the beginning of class the day you return.  Make-up tests for an excused absence need to be scheduled with me immediately.

Make-up assignments for excused absences (according to Huntsville City School policy) need to be turned in within 1 WEEK of absence for full credit. After a week late work will be accepted only at the teacher’s discretion.

 Work on unfinished classwork for this class only.  Review chapter vocabulary.  Read the current chapter or the next chapter ahead in the text.  Practice keyboarding skills

End of class  The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell.  When you leave make sure to take all your belongings and any trash you see should be placed in a wastebasket.
