Small Churches Like Philadelphia… Need to be challenged to take hold of their opportunities (Rev. 3:7-8) Need to be commended for what they are doing right (Rev. 3:8-10) Need to be encouraged to hold on to their faithfulness in Christ (Rev. 3:11) Need to be reminded of their promise of eternal reward (Rev. 3:12-13)

A Powerful Little Church You have the far-reaching power of godly influence (Mt. 5:13-16; Phil. 2:15; 1 Thess. 1:7-8; 1 pet. 2:12) You have the living power of God’s word (Rom. 1:16; 2 Cor. 6:7; 1 Thess. 2:13; Heb. 4:12) You have the strengthening power of congregational unity (Eph. 4:3,13-16; Eccl. 4:9-12) You have the effectual power of an active faith (2 Thess. 1:11)

A Powerful Little Church You have the defensive power of personal godliness (2 Tim. 3:5; 1 Tim. 4:8; 6:6) You have the comforting power of divine providence (Heb. 4:16; 13:5-6) You have the compassionate power of brotherly love (1 Pet. 1:22; 2:17; 4:8; 2 Pet. 1:7)
