CHEP 2007 IAC November Conference schedule MondayAM-plenaryPM-parallel TuesdayAMPM-free WednesdayAM-plenaryPM-parallel ThursdayAM-plenary PM-parallel FridayAM-summary Goal is to finish conference at noon on Friday

CHEP 2007 IAC November Friday session Difficult to fit summary talks of 8 tracks, conference summary talk and closing session summary talks summary talks Conference summary Closing session Options: Start Friday at minute summary talks Drop “conference summary talk” Panel session (shorter summary talks)

CHEP 2007 IAC November Plenary topics LHC: Status of the LHC (DG, J.Englin, J.Virdee) WLCG (L.Roberston) LHC networking (D.Foster) Status of the LHC experiments (Computing coord) HEP projects Tevatron, b-physics, RHIC, other expts (one talk in each area?) Triggering, data acquisition, analysis tools (suggestions for topics and speakers?) Grid Projects EGEE, OSG, Nordugrid, NAREGI… (separate talks, regional talks, …?) Grid interoperability Other topics Evolution of grid middleware (I.Foster) Grid security (???) Identity management (A.Pace) Digital divide (SCIC) report (H.Newman) Impact of E-science (M.Atkinson) Collaborative science (???) Other projects Neptune project (Canadian spokesman) Astronomy (E.Siedel, other suggestions?) Health science Earth Observation (Other ideas?) Industry Intel (Pat Gelsinger) IBM (J.Menon) minute plenary talks

CHEP 2007 IAC November Parallel track coordinators Plan to have 2 (int) +1 (local) coordinator for each of the 8 tracks –Online computing –Event processing –Software components, tools and databases –Grid middleware and tools –Computing facilities, production grids and networks –Distributed data analysis and information management –Collaborative initiatives with other sciences –Collaborative tools We will need some suggestions. The PAC will be formed in the early new year.

CHEP 2007 IAC November Proceedings CHEP 2003 (San Diego) –Reference on SPIRES –papers on SLAC conference web site –paper in arXiv archive CHEP 2004 –Papers in Indico (not visible in Spires) –Available in CERN Yellow Report CHEP 2006 –Papers in Indico (not visible in Spires) Is it valuable to have the CHEP proceedings in a more visible location? –Cannot search for papers –Difficult to cite

CHEP 2007 IAC November Poster session Current space allows for 65 posters to be displayed at any one time –We could make room for more Plan is for 3 poster sessions ( Expect posters) –Session I:Monday noon - Tuesday noon –Session II:Wednesday –Session III: Thursday There was a suggestion to provide stand and power for poster –This may be challenging and with a non-zero cost Student talks and posters –Separate parallel session or poster session? (does Indico have option to flag student submissions?)

CHEP 2007 IAC November Exhibition space Space is available for research organizations and industry –Interested groups: GridPP, OSG, Nordugrid CANARIE, TRIUMF NetApps, Sun Let me know if you wish exhibition space –Inexpensive for research organization (at cost $100CDN + power + Ethernet landline)

CHEP 2007 IAC November Globus session Globus (J.Schopf) has offered to have a session –Options include tutorial, BOF –Prefer BOF (1-2 hours) similar to sessions at SC2005, GGF and UK “all hands meeting” –Propose scheduling it for one of the late afternoon parallel sessions
