We want to make a change! We want to make a difference! We want to support the arts! And we won’t GIVE UP! We want to make a change! We want to make a difference! We want to support the arts! And we won’t GIVE UP!

So we are going to JUST STAND UP!

To create a Gala charity event called “JUST STAND UP” for the Arts

To raise over $1,500 for the Wilson West art department that can be reinvested into art supplies and materials To generate awareness of the importance of art in the school To get students excited about the Wilson West art program

All Wilson West 6 th – 8 th graders will be asked to submit artwork for the event All type of art will be accepted including drawings, paintings, photographs, 3D, sculpture etc. Student art will be sold at the opening Gala event. All monies raised from the sale of student art will be donated to the Wilson West art department Artwork will be displayed and sold at the opening Gala There will be a raffle event for donated art items There will be a silent auction for higher end art items for sale. Gala participants will be able to bid on artwork supplied by local artists as well as other items including art classes from Goggle Works, The Yokum Institute and Michael’s

Principal and Vice Principal support Involvement from Helping Hands, the Wilson Art Department and the PTO The development of a “Gala” leadership committee Committee Chair Person: Justin Orlick Art collection and distribution Program sponsors Art for Auction Food and drinks

The first annual “JUST STAND UP” Gala charity event will take place in May, 2012 The event will coincide with the Wilson West art show The Gala event will take place at Wilson West Middle School. Art work for sale will be displayed around the school
