Castle of Spiš is one of the biggest castles in Europe. There had been living human for 5000 years. First written mention of castle comes from 1209 about selling grounds. The castle was building in stages from 10th to 13th century. In first half of century they were building faster because Mongols came. This castle was one of few castles which resisted Mongol´s attacks. In second half of 14th century they added middle and down castle and built a new walls along them. 3

In 15th century was following building expansion. In 1780 castle burnt. Local people started deconstruction the castle like cheap building material. This destroying stopped after Second World War. It has been reconstucted since Since 1993 it belongs to UNESCO Nowadays there are reconstructions and it is favourite place for tourism. 4

The first recorded mention of the castle is from The castle was built in 13th century by the Bebek brothers on a trade route leading from Transylvania through Košice to Spiš and today's Poland. In 16th century the Mariássy family seized control of the castle. In 1578 the castle passed into the hands of Péter Andrássy. His family stayed there until During 2010 and 2011 the castle underwent renovation. In 2012 the castle was badly damaged by fire. The fire was caused by two young gipsy boys who attempted to light up cigarette and accidentally lit grass on the hill. Nowadays the castle is being reconstructed.

Castle of Trenčín is big renovated castle upon Trenčín. On the cliff under castle is inscription from age of Rome empire. Its about win against German tribes. Castle was built in 9th century to defense Ugrian empire from west borders. In 13th century came under Matúš Čak lordship. He repaired tower from 11th century and built palace next of it. This tower is called Matúš tower and its dominant of castle. After his death Ľudovít from Anjou built new palace and walls along castle. In 1527 castle was conquered by Ferdinand I. He built stronger walls like Castle of Spiš has. Its one of the best fortressed castles in Europe. In 1790 castle burnt. Nowadays its museum.

This castle is the oldest and has most interesting history of all slovak castles. It went trough Celtic, Roman, Ugrian, Slovan, Big Morava histories. It defends „Devín Gate“ – entire to Carpathian hollow basin, bussines journey on Danube. First written mention si from It was border between Roman empire and German tribes, Karol Veľký and Longobards, then Ugrians and Austrians. One of the most influence lords of castle was Rastislav. He fought against Franks a was successful.

In 1223 Fridrich II. conquered castle and burnt village under the castle. In 1271 was damaged during many fights between Ugrian and Czech lords for ignoration of peace accord. In 1809 when Napoleon Bonaparte bombarded Bratislava his army uselessly blowed up. Nowadays its good place for tourists.
