Geometry Section 1.6 Classifying Polygons
Terms Polygon-closed plane figure with the following properties Formed by 3 or more line segments called sides Each side intersects exactly two sides, one at each endpoint (vertex) so that no two sides with a common endpoint are collinear
Polygons A polygon is convex if no line that contains a side of the polygon contains a point in the interior of the polygon A concave polygon is one that is not convex
Classifying Polygons A polygon is named by the number of sides
Regular Polygon A regular polygon has all sides congruent (equilateral) and all angles congruent (equiangular).
