Robotics BY MATTHEW BEVAN CANDIDATE NUMBER:4046 WILDERN SCHOOL CENTER NUMBER:58243 Trends in computing

So why have I chosen robotics? I have chosen robotics because I find it very interesting to know how things work (especially robotics and computer mechanisms). I have also chosen robotics because I know a bit about the subject already and it interests me how people over the years have changed and innovated robots to do more practical things like to build cars or to start acting like humans.

intro and description The definition of a robot is a machine that can do specific tasks, and sometimes is given human characteristics, or a person who automatically does work without question or emotion. An example of a robot is the machine that puts bolts on a car door in an assembly line. The first digital and programmable robot was invented byGeorge Devol in 1954 and was named the Unimate. It was sold to General Motors in 1961 where it was used to lift pieces of hot metal from die casting machines.

contents Throughout this presentation I will be talking about how robotics began and what the first robot was and how it was at the beginning, how we have and are developing robotics over time and what we are looking forward top in the future of robotics. There will also be social and ethical reasons when focusing in on curtain aspects of robotics.
