Inequalities in One Variable: T o graph an inequality in one variable we must solve for the given variable. **If you divide by a negative number, you must FLIP the inequality sign. > or < Open circle ≥ or ≤ Closed circle

Example 1: 3-2x < x < 6 -2 x > -3 Divide by a negative.. FLIP sign Open circle because it > Shade to the right because it was greater than (>) Example 2: 15 ≥ 7x ≥ 7x ≥ x x ≤ 2 variable needs to be on the left side
