China SIG activities update Guoqing Li, Zhenchun Huang Presented in WGISS24, Munich

Contents Grid Architecture Update SIG Container Update WAG Activities Other Approaches

Grid TestBed Architecture Update Data Resources Computation Resources SIG Container 2.0 Glite 1.2 Application Middleware Application Middleware Application SIG SIG-A

SIG Container Update SIG Container is updated to version 2.0, and renamed to SIGRE – SIG Runtime Environment Target of update: SIGRE will be the bridge and isolated area between the general grid middlewares (such as Globus or Glite) and the Spatial applications. So, it should: More stable Codes refactored, bugs fixed More powerful Data service framework is embedded WS-Security based user authentification and data encryption More platform-independent Distributed as a WAR, can be installed in any servlet container, such as tomcat, websphere, weblogic, … Will be able to work on many types of grid middleware

SIG Container Update Target of update: Easier to install, configure, use and develop Install: place WAR to webapp folder of servlet container Configure: by a web-based configure wizard Use & Develop: (see following) Globus Toolkit gLiteGOS …… General grid middlewares Servlet Container such as Tomcat or Websphere SIGRE Spatial applications

Main factors of update Codes are refactored and bugs are fixed Only one edition now (old SIG container has 2: lite edition and meta edition) WS-Security based user authentification and data encryption is supported Advanced node service take place of old version service, registry service and monitor service Resource deployment by web-based wizard, need not register again (as in the old SIG container) Distributed resource discovery support (by the node service)

Main factors of update Automatically job client stub generation (by SIGRE tools) Data service framework which supports data query, data access and WMS On-demand job support (developing) More general grid middleware supports (developing) Web-based configuration wizard and management tools (developing)
