With Robots robots are radical

  Somebody’s appendix has just ruptured and all the doctors are off golfing. Its up to two heroic robots to save this man’s life by extracting the appendix with a chainsaw then dragging his Lego body away to the recovery unit. Problem

  This is an open appendectomy, where the patient in anesthetized and an incision is made in the lower portion of the abdomen. The abdominal muscles are then separated, and the abdominal cavity is opened. The connective tissue of the appendix is then severed, and then the appendix is removed to be examined by a lab.  This stand serves as a model of the person’s body: the ball is the appendix, and the gate that the slap-bot breaks represents the skin, muscle and connective tissue holding the appendix in place. Research

 Development

 Light Sensor Motor/ Sensor Mount Motor Stand

 Speed Enhancing Gear Configuration Scalpel Realization Of Slapbot

 Guiding claw Ultrasonic Sensor Supports

 Grabbing Claw Realization Of Drag-Bot

  It does the basic steps of the procedure fairly well. It performs the opening of the abdominal cavity and removal of the appendix, except it doesn’t use any anesthetic. Evaluation  They complete the task 5/6 times

 Test Run

  The stand for the ball could be more refined. The back wall which is used for the Drag-Bot’s ultrasonic sensor is a little too high, making the Slap-Bot’s arm to hit that instead of the abdominal wall.  Dragbot has a flimsy attachment for the hook. To fix this, we could  Slapbot’s arm has a clicking noise at high speeds and the overall gear configuration is rather weak. We could try to find a better arrangement for the gear configuration. Suggestions for Improvement
