Delayed Honeymoon The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided not to go on honeymoon immediately and will spend the weekend in the UK before the duke returns to work next week. William and Catherine left Buckingham Palace by helicopter on Saturday.

Delayed Honeymoon

It was time to escape. William and Catherine emerged from the palace.

They did not set off on honeymoon. They will spend a private weekend somewhere in the UK. Then William will return to his duties. William is a search-and-rescue pilot.

The helicopter departure was not the start of a honeymoon.

The first photograph shows the bride and groom. They are standing side by side in the throne room.

In the second photo they are with their respective families. They are with the bridesmaids and the pageboys.

The Windsors are on the left of the picture.

The Middletons are on the right.

The third picture is less formal. It shows the pair with four bridesmaids and two pageboys.

It was two families coming together.

The wedding celebrations continued till the morning. The Queen left early.

Groups of party-goers could be seen leaving on foot.

For two families it was a day to remember. The Middletons left their hotel in the afternoon. They returned to their lives in Berkshire.

Her new life began at the altar of the Westminster Abbey. She made a transition from being simply Catherine Middleton. She became Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.

She fulfilled her first royal tradition. Her wedding bouquet rests on the grave of the unknown warrior.
