Exploration and Practice of a New Type of CSR Introduction to Little Bird ’ s Project on Enterprise Workers ’ Communication Hotline Service NGO---Little Bird Mutual-Aid Hotline for Migrant Workers June 6, 1999-Oct. 19, 2015

 Little Bird Hotline, established in 1999 by a migrant worker, is one of the most influential labor NGOs in China, providing legal services and urban integration intervention and support to individual workers. During the 17 years’ development, Little Bird has cooperated with 21 international organizations, foundations and enterprises by implementing 85 projects, benefiting 860,000 workers directly and 1,100,000 workers indirectly.  The year of 2012 is a turning point for Little Bird. In recent years, workers’ strikes show an increasing trend. In May, 2010, the strike in Honda. In 2010, the Foxconn's workers jumped from building. In April, 2014, the 40,000 workers' strike in Yuyuan, Dongguan. In May, 2015, 2750 workers' strike in Lide shoe factory.( 120, 000,000 RMB) Challenge for enterprise: the powder- keg-like labor relationship According to an incomplete statistics from labor NGOs, there were more than 2,000 strikes involving more than a million workers in Guangdong in 2014.

Project Cooperation In August 2012, Little Bird began to cooperate with an Irish company, by opening workers ’ communication among its two factories among 6000 workers. By the end of 2014, Little Bird has received 3,243 hotline calls, handled 372 workers ’ opinion cases and organized 27 workers activities. Now, there are 8 full-time staff working for this project which covers 20,000 workers in 5 factories in Shenzhen and Dongguan.
