What is Euro Week? Linking to our 2 year Comenius project. 6 countries including Wales. Each year group studied a country, through all areas of the curriculum. Year 3 – Latvia, Year 4 – Madeira, Year 5- Greece, Year 6 – Sicily. Previously had a Spanish day earlier in the year.

Planning Discussed our ideas with headmaster Then discussed ideas in staff meeting ESDGC audit of school was compiled. Together after school and during service time. First deciding on how to plan the week between us. Then individually found resources for 2 countries each. Meeting every Friday to discuss progress.

Resources Approached British Council and Euro Direct Contacted Comenius Schools and asked for help. Asked staff, pupils and families. Folders of resources were provided for each year group along with internet links and powerpoint presentations on the school server.

Whole School Approach Consulted with school cook and a menu was created for school dinners. European football tournament at lunch times with help from dinner ladies. Eurovision song contest. Contribute towards Eco Schools award and International Schools award
