Course Aims To understand the computer system. Develop the ability to learn the main physical parts of the computer. And how to deal with computer software. Practical part of this course should be enough to develop the students technical skills including software and hardware.

Main parts of a personal computer

Hardware( input- output ) devices

Types of software System software – For example; windows, Mac, and Linux. Application software – Office package ( word, power point) and media applications ( Real player and VLC). Computer programming – Compliers and linkers; used to translate the source code of computer programs into executable RAMs.

Information Network (LAN&WAN)

Security and Privacy Keeping the personal information away from hackers, such as banking information, which is can be done by installing antivirus software and checking the external port using M- Dos.

Network Including local and wireless network. The component of network inside an organization or a company.

Use of IT in everyday life Ticket reservation; Cinema, airlines and others Mailing list in Universities and companies. Pay the electricity and Telecom bills.

Information technology applications in hospital The use of computer and its applications in hospital. The purposes and advantages of using computer in hospital department such as radiology and laboratory.
