Why new 230V boards? E 145 E 045  SAFEzone: with the new boards for 230V operators (both hydraulic and electro-mechanical) , obstacle detection and reversal rapidity are always granted  safety condition in compliance with DM 2006/42/EC  GREEN TECH: solutions have been adopted to save power up to 90% compared to traditional systems  Connectivity: the new boards support BUS 2Easy; the E145 model, which can also be programmed from PC/MAC, is prepared for the connection to the new modules for GSM, Ethernet and WiFi. 3

SAFEzone Both boards control the new SAFEcoder Absolute Encoder via the BUS 2Easy input. 7

SAFEzone Strong points of the SAFEcoder: It enables the reverse on contact feature It is directly fitted on the operator bracket (FAAC PATENT) Backward-compatible: it can be fitted on existing systems without having to modify any fittings or installation dimensions. It is able to find, automatically and with high accuracy, the deceleration and stop points, thus preventing the automated system from forcing against the stop point If the stop points are set by hand there is no mechanical stops need In the event of a power fault, the absolute encoder keeps the leaf position memorized, wherever it stopped, thus avoiding irregular cycles after special events. Therefore it fully complies with the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC 8

GREEN TECH Both boards have been designed to offer the highest energy efficiency (thanks to the switching power supply), resulting thus in a reduced current consumption and money saving. The E145 board is furthermore able to operate at very low consumption conditions (Sleep) during standby. Connectivity The E145 board features an expansion slot for connecting the GSM, Ethernet and WiFi modules. With these modules the board can be remote-controlled via standard communication channels (i.e. internet) with the following related advantages: The installer can offer top-class maintenance services thanks to the remote monitoring of the system and to the possibility of being informed by the board in the event of faults or if a certain number of cycles has been reached Business customers can insert the automated system in their centralized control systems without having to use expensive interfaces, such PLCs. The final residential customer can control his/her board using a smartphone or insert it in a Home Automation system. 11

Connectivity The E145 board can be programmed by display or connected to a PC or a MAC. Using the simple and user-friendly EasyBoard programming software, you can choose whether to follow the Wizard guided installation or customize your system in all its parts. It will be also possible to program the SLHP remote controls directly on the board without having to use the SLHP decoder (future development). 12

Retro-compatibility: E045 - Photocells When replacing an electronic board with standard photocells already installed (e.g. 452MPS, 455D), with the E045, equipped with BUS input only, there are different solutions: Replacing the old photocells with BUS photocells in order to increase the installation protection and efficiency: 2Easy BUS is FAAC proprietary and therefore is not compatible with competitor’s boards or accessories; moreover BUS photocells have an extreme power efficiency. Use BUS XIB interface (cod.790062) that allow using standard input photocells with 2Easy BUS connection. BUS XIB INTERFACE 14

Retro-compatibility: E045 – Radio receiver Replacing an old electronic board (452MPS, 455D, etc.), the following cases, related to radio system, could happen: CASE 1. External or wire-connected receiver CASE 2. RP receiver plug-in (5 pin) CASE 3. External receiver PLUS/PL with Decoder/Minidec plug-in (5 pin connector) CASE 1. EXTERNAL OR WIRE-CONNECTED RECEIVER Just wire the receiver to E045 connector CASE 2 and 3. RP RECEIVER PLUG-IN (5 PIN) or EXTERNAL RECEIVER PLUS/PL WITH DECODER/MINIDEC PLUG-IN (5 PIN CONNECTOR) Both cases have two solutions 15

Retro-compatibility: E045 – Radio receiver Solution 1: eliminate RP receiver or external receiver + decoding board (e.g. PLUS + MINIDEC) and replace them with the XF module (3 pin) with the same frequency (433 or 868) of the old system Re-program ONLY ONE transmitter SLH/DS or ALL the RC transmitters. Possibility to store transmitters on USB memory. RP E045 16

Retro-compatibility: E045 – Radio receiver Solution 2: keep RP receiver or external receiver + decoding board and plug it on the Interface Adaptor (cod.6020028) in order to wire it to the E045 NO transmitters have to be re-programmed RP Interface adaptor Wire to E045 connector 17

Retro-compatibility: E145 The new E145 is equipped with both 2Easy BUS and standard photocell inputs (opening and closing), and both the OMNIDEC XF radio connector (3 pin) and RP connector (5 pin): any type of connection can be done. Moreover 452MPS and 455D connectors are pin-to-pin compatible (all but the electro-lock one) with the E145 connectors; it is therefore even faster and easier replacing an old board with E145, because the wiring remain the same. 452MPS and 455D connectors pin-to-pin compatible 455D connector pin-to-pin compatible 18

1 Easy programming and display Even the Low-range board features a display for a rapid and easy programming and visualization of the parameters High brightness display: direct sunlight readable Automatic set-up and usual programming similar to 455D: all FAAC control boards for swing-leaf gates, electromechanical and hydraulic, 230V and 24V, feature the same Set-Up procedure 22

2 Switching power supply and pilot relay redundancy Switching power supply integrated on both boards: highly insensitive to interferences; E145 with wide range, 90Vac ÷ 260Vac Remarkable weight reduction thanks to the absence of the transformer Energy efficiency: HW/SW solutions have been adopted to drastically reduce the standby power Motor pilot relay redundancy (5 ones): avoids sticking 23

8 Software update and saving of the configuration using USB The USB HOST port, which is present on both boards, can also be used to: Perform an easy update of the firmware when new versions are released Upload or download a programming configuration Upload or download the radio code table (no more need to store at least one SLH Master transmitter) 30

10 Visualization and programming of the parameters using PC/MAC (only E145) The E145 model can be connected to a PC/MAC using the XCOM module or the USB device port in order to: Program each individual parameter on the board Program the energy efficiency function Enter a password to protect the system Easily update the firmware when new versions are released Upload or download a configuration Upload or download the radio code table Program transmitters associated to a database of names (SLHP) 33

11 Integrated timer (only E145) The integrated timer enables you to select weekly or daily procedures with an Outlook-like user interface. “Jolly” periods are selectable in order to create exceptions to standard timer configuration (e.g. Christmas period, summer closing, etc.) 34

12 Comprehensive diagnostics with event LOG (only E145) Real-time detailed check of all errors/warnings and states of every input/output Event LOG : the board memory-stores the last 350 events (opening, closing, obstacle detection, photocells, etc.) for a simplified diagnostics 35
