Algebra II

 To remember everything learned in Chapter 2!!

1. What are the domain and range of the relation? Is it a function? {(-3, 5), (0, 1), (2, 0), (-3, 4)} Domain: {-3, 0, 2} Range: {0, 1, 4, 5} NOT a function. When x = –3, there are two y – values

2. Is the graph a function? Not a function. Fails the vertical line test.

3. Is the graph a function? Is a function. Passes the vertical line test.

7. Write #6 in slope – intercept form y – 9 = –2(x +15) y + 5 = –2(x + 8) y – 9 = –2x – 30 y + 5 = –2x – 16 y = –2x – 21

8. Write #6 in standard form y = –2x – 21 2x + y = –21 NO FRACTIONS!!

9. Write an equation of a line parallel to #6 and goes through (0, 7) in slope-intercept form. Slope = –2 Have y-intercept!! (0, 7) y = -2x + 7

2y = x + 14 x – 2y = x + 2y = 14 (2) ( )(2)

11. Write an equation of a line that goes through (3, 4) & (3, 7) x = Write an equation of a line that goes through (3, 4) & (7, 4) y = 4

12. Graph 3x – 4y = 12 x-intercept (y = 0)3x - 4(0) = 12 3x = 12 x = 4 (4, 0) y-intercept (x = 0) 3(0) - 4y = 12 -4y = 12 y = -3 (0, -3)
