Preliminaries  Pre-class (10 classwork points): on your workstations, do the following:  Launch Internet Explorer and browse to  Obtain your typing speed.  Practice placing your hands on the homerow without looking at the keyboard.  Click on the “Learn Now” button within the “Free Typing Lessons” pane.  Select lesson #1 and read the instructions which follow.

Objectives  Proper hand placement on the home row.  Touch-type using the “f” and “j” keys at 20 w.p.m.  Be able to define the following components of the Word interface:  Tool bar  Title bar  Status bar  Menu bar  Be able to access the help system in Word.

Review: Wiki Spaces  Purpose: Video Presentation ( plain-english) plain-english  Account Creation:  Username  Password  account (create one in hotmail if you don’t have one).  Logging in to your wiki space
