Pay Increases Per the Florida House and Senate: Raise funding for filled Faculty and Staff positions: 3.0 % Across the Board Increases 1.5 % Merit Increases

Pay Increases Per the Florida House and Senate: - Funding based upon 9/30/06 salary - Increases effective 10/1/06

Pay Increases Faculty Eligibility: - Hire date of June 30, 2006 or before - For merit, a current performance rating of minimally achieves or better

Pay Increases Across the Board Increases for All Employees were effective 10/1/06

Pay Increases Merit Increases: - Staff Employee Merit implemented on 10/1/06 - In-Unit Faculty increases delayed by UF negotiations with United Faculty of Florida

Pay Increases Under the 10/27 agreement: -The University deducted 0.6 % for promotions and SPPP awards from the 1.5 % funding for the total bargaining unit -The remaining 0.9 % goes to the colleges, including the Libraries

Pay Increases Under the 10/27 agreement: - “Merit raise must be made using faculty approved departmental criteria and distribution systems and the faculty member’s annual evaluation”

Smathers Libraries Criteria and Evaluative Procedures History: Origins in 1980’s when unique departmental criteria were written by faculty, voted on by departments and each department’s criteria was submitted to the Provost In the 1990’s these various departmental criteria were incorporated by faculty into the current single set of criteria, voted on in departments and submitted to the Provost for approval

Pay Increases Smathers Libraries Process for Merit Allocation Each division received the merit money generated by divisional salaries plus a proportional share of unallocated Director level merit funding Department chairs and area directors for each division prioritized and allocated the raises for the division’s most meritorious faculty based upon the established merit criteria

Pay Increases Smathers Libraries Process Dates 11/3/06 – Colleges advised of negotiation outcome 11/20/06 - Merit Increases Submitted to UF 12/1/06 – Letter from Director to all eligible faculty regarding merit allocation 12/22/06 - Increases will appear in paycheck 10/1/06 - Retroactive effective date for Merit Increases

Pay Increases Per the 10/27 agreement: There will be an announcement to each UF faculty member from UF HR stating new base rate and amounts of increases
