British Heart Foundation Our mission is to win the fight against cardiovascular disease Our vision is of a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from cardiovascular disease

BHF’s Strategy to 2020

TODAY 440 people will lose their lives to CVD …more than 100 people will be 75 younger than 12 babies will be born with a heart defect 480 people will go to hospital because of a heart attack 640 people will go to hospital due to a stroke 7 MILLION people fight their daily battles with CVD

Prevention Aims We want to empower people to make healthy choices around physical inactivity, smoking, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and obesity to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease. We want to reduce the number of people who smoke, are physically inactive, make unhealthy diet choices or live with undiagnosed high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol. We will focus work on people and communities at highest risk of cardiovascular disease. We will support those tackling the wider environmental factors that affect cardiovascular health.’
