Expected outcomes and responsibilities (a) Academic Improvement on Standardized Test: 80 % of all UB participants, who at the time of entrance into the project had an expected high school graduation date during the school year, will have achieved at the proficient level during high school on state assessments in reading/language arts and math. (b) Project Retention 75 % of 9 th, 10 th, and 11 th grade project participants served during each school year will continue to participate in the Upward Bound Project during the next school year. (c) Postsecondary Enrollment: 75 % of all UB participants, who at the time of entrance into the project had an expected graduation date during the school year, will enroll in a program of postsecondary education by the fall term immediately following the expected graduation date from high school. (d) Postsecondary Persistence: 60% of all UB participants who enrolled in a program of postsecondary education during the fall term immediately following high school graduation will be enrolled for the fall term of the second academic year.

Phases  PHASE I DAILY ONE-ON-ONE TUTORIALS DURING THE WEEK INCLUDING C OLLEGE C HATS. MONDAY-FRIDAY FOR ALL STUDENTS WITH DAILY AVERAGES BELOW 85%. SATURDAY TUTORIALS TWICE A MONTH  PHASE II SATURDAY ENRICHMENT TWICE A MONTH DURING THE REGULAR ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR (FALL & SPRING.)  PHASE III SIX-WEEK SUMMER COMPONENT (NON-RESIDENTIAL and combination of credit and noncredit) DAILY TUTORIALS FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN SUMMER SCHOOL

 College Campuses  Career Related Activities  Community Service

Money & Time saved depends on how early the student begins taking college courses!  9th Grade – 1 course (Summer I) = $2,  10th Grade – 4 courses (Dual & Summer) = $4,  11th Grade – 4 courses (Dual & Summer) = $4,  12th Grade – 4 courses (Dual & Summer) = $4, Total money saved through high school = $15, Student will graduate from high school with a total of 39 college credits and will begin their first year in college as a Sophomore. Bottom line – Savings $$$$$
