DAILY PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS For Mrs. Bisig’s Class

When does class begin and end? Homeroom7:35-7:40 BOLD7:44-8:14 1 st 8:18-9:18 2 nd 9:22-10:22 3 rd 10:26-11:26 4 th Lunch 11:30-1:01 11:35-12:05 5 th 1:05-1:45 6 th 1:49-2:30

Seat Assignments  Seats will be assigned by the teacher using a random seating system. If you have a particular issue that you’d like to address with me, please speak to me privately.

What behavior is expected upon entering the classroom?  Enter the room quietly and without disruption.  Prepare yourself for class (sharpen pencil, put your extra books under your desk, etc.)  Begin work on your Daily Mental Math or prepare for your Friday quiz.  Review the day’s agenda on the board to be sure you have everything you need.  Wait quietly while other students finish.

Class dismissal Class will be dismissed by the teacher at the appropriate time.

What behavior is expected upon leaving the classroom?  Collect all of your materials without being disruptive.  Straighten up the area around your desk (pick up trash, check desk for writing, etc.)  Upon dismissal, leave in an orderly fashion.

What should I bring to class each day?  Pencil  Paper  Math Folder (or separate section in binder)  Agenda

What to do if you don’t have materials?  First, quietly attempt to borrow materials from a friend.  If you cannot get what you need, see me.

What do I do when I am tardy? Come into the classroom quietly and without disruption and have a seat.

Where to find assignments if you were absent:  If you are absent, check the “We Missed You” folder for the assignment for the day(s) you missed. If nothing is there, speak with me privately.  You will have one day for each day you are absent to turn in the work before it is considered late.  These assignments are to be turned into the late work/make-up work slot.

How do I turn in late work?  Always check to see if you are in the “Dog House” for late work.  Find the appropriate assignment in the “Extra Copies” drawer.  Complete the assignment promptly & place it in the late work/make-up work folder. 1 st qtr – Assignments will be accepted up to 3 days late with no consequence. 2 nd qtr – Assignments will be accepted up to 2 days late with no consequence. 3 rd /4 th qtr – Assignments will be accepted 1 day late with no consequence. DO NOT HAND THEM TO ME OR PLACE THEM ON MY DESK!

How to request permission to leave the room:  Wait for a break in class when the teacher is not talking.  Quietly ask for permission to leave.  Fill out the Hall Pass Log and take the Hall Pass. Make every effort to visit the restroom or get a drink before and after class.

Policy about gum, food & drinks:  Gum, food, & drinks are NOT permitted in class or the school.

Policy about electronic devices  There WILL be times that we will utilize our electronic devices (phones, ipods, tablets, etc.) in class as part of our Math lesson.  Using your electronic device at a time or for a purpose other than as directed will result in disciplinary action.  Be familiar with the school BYOT policy!!

What to do if you finish before others:  Let me check your work.  Quietly, find something else to work on. (This does not mean take a nap. I always have plenty of work for you if you do not have any.) I would suggest having a book with you to read.
