NMR loading procedure

load button needs to be held to continually supply air to the sample chamber If the air is not on the sample will drop into the chamber and break!!! Very bad!!!

When loading sample: Check the depth of the sample by placing the tube + spinner into the depth gauge Press down lightly on the tube until you feel resistance This ensures that the sample is at the correct depth in the sample chamber

Insert the sample into the spinner while holding down the “sample retrieval/load button” (air line button)

Release tube, then release the air line button. The sample + spinner will slowly sink down into the sample chamber.

To unload sample: Press the air line button The sample will float to the top of the sample chamber Give the spinner to the next person. If no one is waiting for the NMR, place the dummy sample into the sample chamber
