LMC Rules! No food or drinks. All BTW students are required to present a signed pass from their teacher when visiting the media center during a class period. Passes are limited to five per teacher. Passes are required during all lunch waves!!!! Students will sign in/out during each visit. No passes are required before/after school or when scheduled for large group research activities supervised by the teacher. Book bags should be “parked” in the power aisle. Internet usage in compliance with MPS Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) statement. Do Not Share Password with anyone!!!

The basics… ITEM:LOAN PERIOD:FINE: Books: 2 weeks.05 per day Audio Books * :2 weeks 1.00 per day Magazines: Overnight.25 per day Laptops *: Overnight per day ( Pick-up laptop after 3:00 PM; return by 8:30 AM the following day.) Students are not permitted to use a cell phone or any electronic device in school. This includes, but is not limited to, a Blackberry, Smartphone, or other adapted PDAs. Teachers have the authority to allow the use of cell phones and electronic devices for instructional purposes during class, however that permission must be granted before students are allowed to openly display cell phones or other electronic devices in class/school. Unless otherwise stated, cell phones and other electronic devices are to be out of view and not in use while students are in the school building. If a cell phone rings or beeps in class/school, it is considered being in use. This includes any classes that may be held outside of the building and on school sponsored field trips. Students are allowed however, to have cell phones on school property. Consequences 1 st Offense: Confiscate device and hold for 24 hours and return to parent at the end of the following school day* 2 nd Offense: Confiscate device and hold for 5 days and, return to parent at the end of the 5th day* and use Corrective Strategies (pages 8-9) 3 rd Offense: Confiscate device and one-day out-of-school suspension; phone returned to parent upon re-admission* * See Confiscation, page 26 Student Handbook Rule B16 (A): Possession of Any Telecommunication Devices
