Teks : (1) (A) demonstrate safe practices during field and laboratory investigations; and (B) make wise choices in the use and conservation of resources and the disposal or recycling of materials.

What should we do if a bottle of chemical falls on the floor? Get someone to help you! They might know more than you would about cleaning the chemicals on the ground. Don’t use regular cloths because it could catch one fire. Use tongs to pick up the mess!

What is the things we need to us for safety protection? Goggles Gloves Long sleeve jacket Pull hair back Don’t wear contact lenses. No food in lab Wash hands after and before wearing gloves Don’t smoke Wash lab coat separate from other clothes. Tongs

Why should we be wise? We need to wise instead of being silly. Because acting up could cause a fire or broken glass. That’s why we need to be safe.

How come we need to wear gloves and goggles? Goggles is needed because chemical into the eyes may blind you. Gloves is need because chemicals should not be touch on the skin.

What are the things we need to use and don’t use, before going to the lab? Lab jackets is important b/c the regular clothes may get chemical on it. Pull back you hair if it’s long b/c it could catch on fire. Don’t smoke in the lab b/c it will cause flames, or explosions. You can’t wear contact lenses b/c it may blind you from chemicals or flames.

Why can’t we wash the lab jacket with other types of clothes? Wash the lab jacket separate from the other clothes because the chemical from the jacket could like bleach the other clothes.

Why should we need to wash our hands even if we wear gloves and we we need to use tong? Wash hands before and after wearing gloves for just incase it gets irritated. Tong- helps you grab the chemicals so you won’t burn yourself.

Why should recycle all the chemical tubes? These types of containers are important to use. Because if you throw a napkin with chemical on the ground someone could slip or hurt someone. There are all types of recycling disposal. So for the world to be a better place get a recycling disposal.
