IDEAL BODY Exploring what it means to have the “perfect” body

Are These The Perfect Bodies?

According to our journalists, magazines, television, fashion gurus and physical trainers…….. YES. The media tells us that lots of muscle (for men), being skinny (for women) and dark skin are the norms when it comes to being beautiful.

ARE THEY RIGHT ? Has it always been this way?

What if I told you since the beginning of known human existence, civilizations have been telling us who’s hot and who’s not?

In the time of the Renaissance, robust women with pale skin were considered to be the most beautiful women in the world. Heavy woman were viewed as healthier and more likely to bare a strong offspring.

In some Asian and African Tribes, the length of a woman’s neck is how they measure beauty. These coils help to elongate the neck while at the same time causing pain and permanent body deformity.

Some Chinese cultures would bind the feet of the women, because in their culture a woman with small feet was considered beautiful

Today we are injecting ourselves with botulism, inserting silicone enhancements, and taking steroids just to keep up with the ever widening demand for perfection. We need to stop looking on what is on the outside and start looking on the inside for beauty.

Let’s follow earth’s example. Who would have thought the ugly oyster could contain such a beautiful inside? A PEARL
