Plan for first year Activities 1.Review of the existing Knowledge (Literatures, database, Guidelines, Research protocols) on the available technologies and gaps analysis 2.Inventory of the available rhizobium Spp. across the priority legume crops 3.Review and Develop and share standard for Isolate authentication, release and registration protocols 4.Gap filling collection, isolation and characterization of effective strains (eg. for Faba bean) 5.Selection and evaluation of the isolates (Laboratory, Greenhouse, and field screening Time Frame March 1 st - 30 June, April 1 st to May 1 st, 2014 March 1 st - 30 June, Priority in the first year and continue through out the project life span Priority in the first year and continue through the third year

6. Centralize the existing knowledge on the causes of non responsiveness of soils and yield gaps analysis 7. Characterizing sites with Climatic, soil and management scenarios 8. Refine the hypothesis to identify the major limiting factors (Linking with the existing initiatives and new primary information ) 9. Developing research protocols defining major research questions (Linking with the existing initiatives and new primary information 10. Design a multi-factorial experiments for multi- locations (Mother and Many baby trials as possible) Note : - Responsibility will be given at a project level - reconsideration of research sites were suggested.
