World war 1 By Declan Quin

Why is world war 1 a significant event in Australian history? It is a significant event because there were over 60,000 people killed and over 156,000 were injured gassed or taken prisoner. Also nearly 5 millions Australians signed up for the war and Australia didn’t Evan declare the war.

Who was involved in world war 1? Between , over 100 countries from Africa, America, Asia, Australasia and Europe were part of the war. Lots of men and women from countries like Australia new Zealand and every other country had to go to be either nurses or soldiers.

When and where did world war 1 happen? It happened in It was held at France,Britain,England,Germany,Australia and lots of other places.

Do you think world war 1 has had an impact on Australia today? Yes because if they hadn’t fought for us then we would never be free we would always be under control. Also it would have been a very sad time because nearly everyone would of known someone that had died.

Interesting fact. Russia sent 12 Millon men during the war France 8.4 Britain 8.9 Germany 11 Millon Austria –Hungary 7.8 million Italy 5.6 million and U.S.A 4.3 million men.
