Tips #1 Teach your students PowerPoint vocabulary Keep the screen simple by minimizing the Ribbon Demonstrate the features of the Ribbon tab by tab Introduce features as they are needed

Tips #2 Use the PowerPoint project as a way to develop technology skills Make sure the presentation’s function meets your objectives Work in Outline view Get a head start with templates

Tips #3 Use 3 fonts or less in a presentation Use text and background colours that contrast highly with each other Avoid patterned backgrounds Use the spell checker!

Tips #4 Images can add or detract from your presentation’s message Search the Internet for free images Observe copyright & ask owners for permission Download images from the Microsoft site

Tips #5 Don’t over animate Use animation to illustrate and emphasize the topic/concept: before & after; questions & answers Use no more than 3 transitions per presentation
