More Blockers  No Table Headers/Captions  Caption: title of the table  Header: tops of rows, left col  Listing types of data  Videos without Captions  Audio without transcripts  Poorly labeled form fields  If you don’t create forms, DON’T worry

Image (w/o ALT Tags)  Why it’s a blocker  If it’s not text, it’s not read by the screenreader  Also  Image Maps  Animations  Charts  Diagrams  ALT text too long?  Write it out as text

ALT Tag/Text/Attribute  Text which replaces image if it can’t be processed  ALT Text= “TWT Certificate Program”  Can appear if image fails to load

How To  ANGEL  “Alternative Text” field in upload  Word/PowerPoint  Right click image and select “format picture”  Fill in “Alternative Text” tab.  Blogs  Title is ALT text  More 

Page Titles  Documents/Pages need titles  Screenreader user knows location  PowerPoint  Unique title on all slides  Slide titles announced by screen readers  ANGEL/Blogs/Wikispaces  Title field IS document title.  This is very easy!  This can be an issue for Web developers  No one wants to be in Google as “Untitled Page”

Headings and Subheadings  Why?  Screen readers read list of headings out  ANGEL HTML Editor  Heading 1…Heading 6 menu option  Word  Heading…Heading 6 styles  Use Styles tools to adjust formatting  PowerPoint  Slide titles  Bulleted list
