Charge: Each major should include a culminating, experiential learning requirement. Although the nature of the experience will vary discipline to discipline, each of these experiences will require the student to demonstrate higher order mastery of the discipline. Required Work: Each major is charged to review their curriculum to ensure that a significant, culminating, experiential learning experience is provided for each major. For those majors that do not meet this requirement, it is expected that the faculty will revise the curriculum as appropriate. Timeline: December 1 – Establish college-level review procedures March 1 – Deadline for programs to submit curricular changes May 1 – Work completed and reported to Provost

Bayh College of Education – All programs currently meet requirement – Student teaching or other practical experience College of Nursing, Health and Human Services – All programs currently meet requirement – Internship, practicum, clinical or other practical experience

College of Arts and Sciences – All programs meet requirement OR have proposed curricular changes to meet requirement – Internship or practical experience, independent research/scholarship, performance/exhibition College of Technology – All programs meet requirement – Internship, lab and community-based independent/group projects
