Ice breaker “Build On Story” Each person will be given a slip of paper with an adjective or an object written on it. The first person starts the story by saying a sentence with their word, and then the next person continues their story with their word, and so on until everyone has gone.
Goals of the lesson To gain a better understanding of what Focus 2 is. Better understanding of whether you fit into your declared major. Clarification of jobs you can apply for or if you will need additional education.
What is Focus 2? “FOCUS 2 is a self-paced, online career and education planning tool for use by college students. It will enable you to self-assess your career relevant personal qualities and explore career fields and major areas of study that are most compatible with your assessment results.” - Radford University Career Services
STEP ONE: Go to the Radford University home page.
STEP TWO: Locate the search engine, and then look up career services. Click on the second link under Career services titled Career Center Radford University.
STEP THREE: Once you have clicked on the Career Center link your screen should look like the one below. Find the blue square titled Focus 2.
STEP FOUR: It will send you to a log in screen, if you have already completed the Focus 2 assessment log in using your user name and password. If you have not done the Focus 2 assessment click on new user.
STEP FIVE: Fill in your information once you have completed enter the following access code: highlanders
