Total time = 1 ½ Hrs ½ hr Personal/Descriptive Story –Marks will be awarded for: Structure and plot e.g. Beginning/ Middle/End Imagery- descriptive qualities Characterisation (Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar-all sections)
Total time = 1 ½ Hrs 40 mins Fiction (read the questions first) –15 mins- Reading Comprehension with 3-4 short questions: –Marks will be awarded for personal opinion backed up by quotations from the comprehension –25 mins- One essay question based on novel: –Marks will be awarded for personal opinion backed up by quotations –Answering the specific question e.g. if the question is why the novel interests you, gives reasons why it interests you! Because teaches you a lot about coping with loss/healing Because it shows the development of a loving father-son relationship etc. –Showing deep knowledge of the novel-Quotations
