This sport is very popular in Finland and other Scandinavian countries where the sport is developed. This sport looks like ice hockey, but you don’t play it on ice. Nordic Walking Nordic Walking is walking with modified ski poles, which are called poles or sticks. It is a hype in Scandinavia and the United States. In Finland, where the sport originated, there are already one million practitioners. Nordic walking was created in Finland as a summer training for cross country skiers. Nordic walking combines the positive training effects of running with the advantages of cross-country skiing.

In the Netherlands there are around 580 clubs, and over a 100,000 people playing korfball. Fierljeppen Fierljeppen (in English far-leaping) is a traditional sport of the Frisians and of the Dutch. In Fierljeppen you take a sprint to the pole, then you jump and grab it. Then you must climb to the top of the pole while trying to control it forward over the water. You finish by landing on a sand bed opposite the starting point.
