Staying in Compliance Dispensing Equipment Spill/Overfill Presented by Travis Benton United Pump and Controls, Inc.

Anchor bolts and dispenser frame solid and in good condition.

Emergency shutoff (impact valve) anchored.

Check for leaks in hydraulic area. Discoloration

Dispenser Sump Clean and Dry

Electrical conduit, junction boxes, and wiring in good condition.

Hoses in good condition, no cuts, cracks, bulges, blisters, flat spots, kinks or worn spots.

Breakaways and swivels in good condition.

Check nozzles for good condition.

Filters clean, dry, and dated Check length of time since last filter change.

If suction pump, check belts and clean strainer. (strainer inside of pump housing)

Warnings and fueling instructions posted and readable.

Meter(s) calibrated within last 12 months.

Emergency Stop Switch easy to see and accessible. Test it!

Emergency stop switch tested and working properly.

Test electrical continuitity of hanging hardware.

Fill covers present, not broken or damaged. Fill covers are identified by color and located on the correct tank. Tank Area

Spill-Containment Manhole (Spill Bucket) No cracks, bulges or holes. Tank Area

Fill Pipe Fill cap in good condition, seals tightly. Tank Area

Submersible Turbine Pump Sumps Any water or product removed and disposed of properly. Tank Area

Overfill Prevention – Drop Tube Shutoff Valve moves freely and operates according to manufacturer’s specifications.

Overfill Prevention – Ball-Float Valve Ball float can be removed and inspected.

Use RP-1200 for Testing Procedures for: Tank Secondary Containment Integrity Testing Piping Secondary Containment Integrity Testing Spill Bucket and Containment Sump Testing UST Overfill Equipment – Automatic Shutoff Devices, Ball Float Valves, Overfill Alarms Electronic Monitoring Systems – Automatic Tank Gauges Automatic Line Leak Detectors Shear Valve Inspection and Testing Emergency Stops
