October 26th HAL (Hyper Articles en Ligne) :  CNRS open archive launched in 2001  and platform used for institutional repositories

October 26th Summer 2006 : signature of a national agreement  HAL as central platform for all french research output  deposit either directly or from a local repository  Couperin involved in the process  a new impulsion is now needed

October 26th Funders :  ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) : deposit in HAL required for ANR funded articles, not mandated (nov. 2007). 2. Did you say mandate ?
