Asking God Properly

God Hears the Righteous God doesn’t listen to sinners (John 9:24-33) God said, “I will not listen” (Isa. 1:4, 11-15) Sin hinders our prayers (Isa. 59:1-2; Ps. 66:18) God hears the righteous – Prov. 15:8, 29 – I Peter 3:12 (from Psalm 34:15-16) – Righteous prayers are powerful (James 5:16)

Pray With Reverence You’re talking to the Creator and Judge “Hallowed be Your name” (Matt. 6:9-13) Paul bowed his knees in prayer (Eph. 3:14) Praise often accompanies requests

Ask According to His Will “Your will be done” (Matt. 6:10) Know God’s will (Eph. 5:17; Rom. 12:2) Jesus’ example of submission (Luke 22:42) God’s will in prayer (I John 5:14-15)
