The Little Red Schoolhouse

This plaque gives a snapshot of the school’s history.

The newly refurbished classroom.

Students used slates and chalk for class work. This one is new but community members donated several to the Little Red Schoolhouse.

This student probably can’t remember class without a SMART Board, but here students write on the chalkboard.

Class is in session!

A historical marker for the Old Killian School.

The desks await little learners.

A potbellied stove like this warmed the class during the winter months.

Period clothes and toys are on display inside this cedar chest.

Am amphitheater in front of the little red schoolhouse.

These bricks were made by Brick Works, a brick-making company owned by the Killian family. The family gave the community its name.

A collection of books donated to the schoolhouse.

Some games children played. All donated by members of the community.

Memorabilia on display in a case in the restored classroom.

A display case chronicling the long road to renovation.

The classroom/meeting room.
