Trusting God is like getting married.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the L ORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed are those who trust in the L ORD and have made the L ORD their hope and confidence.

Romans 15:13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Can you trust the catcher?

What does trusting God in real life look like?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the L ORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope…”

God has good plans for me. I have the power to affect those plans. Others have the power to affect those plans.

Jeremiah 29:10 This is what the L ORD says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.”

John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

What are we trusting God for?

1.God will never be less than perfectly loving and good. We live in a war zone and we can trust in his character. He is always working to maximize the good and minimize the impact of evil. God is faithful.

2.God is present. He is with us in the middle of it all. He is the Light of the world.

3. God wins. His love wins. Ephesians 1:9-10 God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.
