Star-Spangled Banner The term “Star-Spangled Banner refers to our American flag. The portion “and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air” refers to the battle between the British and the Americans at Fort McHenry.

Pledge of Allegiance The word INDIVISIBLE in the Pledge of Allegiance means that the states are a union. Everyone has the right to be free is an idea that came from the Declaration of Independence that is used again in The Pledge.

American Voting Rights All races can vote. Former slaves can vote. Minimum 18 years old to vote. Women can vote.
