Global Warming By: Majed Al Naimi 8D

Define Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants.

Global Warming over the years Over the years Global warming is getting worse and worse because of These additional greenhouse gases in the atmosphere causes extra absorption of solar radiations and increases the heat of the earth. A good absorber of heat is also a good producer and therefore the amount of heat that these extra greenhouse gases absorbs will be released into the atmosphere upon emission. This increases the heating of our atmosphere and caused a temperature rise on earth’s surface.

How can we stop this ?! One thing people are doing is carpooling. Carpooling is driving with someone to a place that you are both going to. This decreases the amount of greenhouse gases put into the air by a car. Another thing that people are doing is being more careful about leaving things turned on like the television, computer, and the lights. A lot of people are taking time away from the television, and instead, they are spending more time outdoors. This helps our planet a lot. Now, more people are even riding busses, walking to school walking to school and other places near by, and riding their bikes to lower the amount of greenhouse gases in the air. Planting trees and recycling also helps. If you recycle, less trash goes to the dump, and less trash gets burned. As a result, there are fewer greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere. How does it effect us? Global warming is already leading to more violent storms, hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters and less predictable weather patterns. Since 1995, only two years have not had above average hurricane activity. The overall number of tropical storms has not increased, but there are more storms strong enough to be called hurricanes. We will probably continue to get bigger storms, which will do more damage more natural disasters.
