The Deciding and Buying Our goal was to build a roller coaster that transports an object from a start to end in close to 15 seconds. 1 st idea = PVC pipe 2 nd idea = aluminum foil LAST AND BEST IDEA = rubber tubing + BB Cost roughly $24.85 with all materials (accessories, a few funnels, glitter, etc.)

The Designing Overview 1.BB spirals down 2 funnels, 1 upside down 2.Travels down an imperfect spiral 3.Drops to move along the back wall down two almost straight half PVC pipes 4.Travels along ground in tube 5.Drops down a large drop with enough energy to finish up the final loop

Troubleshoots BB kept getting stuck in tubing because of condensation build-up  we had to cut open tubing and clean out water Slopes were too steep  way under 15 seconds  made slopes less steep + added PVC pipe drops

Pretty in Pink!

The Energy in Pretty in Pink! BB goes from… Potential Gravitational to KINETIC

Final Conclusions With a lot of troubleshoots, food breaks, and shopping for supplies, our project took about 15 hours of contribution. Our roller coaster is reliable, safe, and fairly inexpensive. With many trials, our times ranged from 12.3 seconds to 17.6 seconds, but average close to 15 seconds.
