ADVERB pp An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.

An adverb tells where, when, how, or to what extent (how much or how long). Where? They said the forest fire started here. The couple was married nearby.

WHEN? When? Louis promptly rounded up suspects. Then several suspects were questioned.
