Definitions McCarthyism- Is when someone accuses someone of disloyalty, mostly of pro communist activity. It is usually not supported by evidence. Communism- a system of government in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.An example is the Soviet Union McCarthy's List- A list of 205 people that were known to the Secretary of State as communists but were still shaping policy in the State Department.
