Dean of Student Life: Priorities: One Year Ahead

Deepen Relationships Dean of Student Life Alignment Colleagues Create new collaborative efforts and improve TLC (“The Learning Community”) Series & Summer Shared Reading PSU Faculty Each DOSL unit will develop a minimum of one new initiative to partner with faculty and academic departments Students Sustain existing and create new opportunities for student involvement in specific areas such as Leadership Fellows, Sustainability Eco-Reps, Student Conduct & SLS Interns Parents and members of the greater Portland community Cultivate alumni affinity network with specific programs such as SALP groups, QRC, Sustainability & WRC Work with Orientation & Alumni Association to create institutional connections for parents and families Dean of Student Life: One Year Ahead

Strengthen Communication Students Improve web presence and content for DOSL main page all DOSL program areas; Utilize CRM and other tools to develop effective outreach and communication strategies; Identify “least engaged” students and target resources to better invite their participation in campus life programs. Groups might include commuting students, transfer students, and student involved with Student Conduct Faculty and Staff Develop online resource for new faculty and staff introducing CARE Team, Student Code of Conduct, Student Ambassadors, and other Dean of Student Life resources; Dean of Student Life: One Year Ahead

Assessment Complete strategic plan for Office of the Dean of Student Life, Strategic plan will include implementation of Assessment Plans for all programs within the DOSL alignment– designed to measure program, learning, and satisfaction outcomes; Use data dashboard to tell the story of how DOSL units contribute to President’s Themes and Goals of Improving Student Success and Retention, Engagement, and Satisfaction.
