 Interest Groups- also called a special interest group, is an organization of people who share common goals. They bridge the gap between the public and lawmakers and seek to influence public opinion, public policy, and elections.  Lobbyists- Interest groups seek to influence government policy by contacting lawmakers. The people who make such contacts are called lobbyists.  Attack Ads- In political campaigns, an attack ad is an advertisement whose message is meant as a personal attack against another candidate or political party. Attack ads often form part of negative campaigning or smear campaigns, and in large or well-financed campaigns, may be disseminated via mass media.

 Analyze the following ad using the “Evaluating Political Advertising Sheet” handed to you.  The Daisy Ad The Daisy Ad

 Create your own 30-second issue advertisement using a technique. This storyboard will be aimed at a particular government policy:  Drilling for oil in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge  School choice, vouchers  Gun Control  Trade with China  Other of your choice  Your final draft may be digital if you would like to finish it at home. However, a rough draft must be completed in class.
