Why do Muslims have 99 Names? Read through the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah and choose 2 names. What can these names tell us about the characteristics of God?

Are Pictures Better? Is it better to use pictures rather than words for God? Which religions allow images of God? Why? Which religions allow images of God? Why? Which religions do not allow images of God? Why? Which religions do not allow images of God? Why?

What are the benefits of pictures? What can the Trimurti start to show about the nature of God in Hinduism? What are the negatives of having these pictures? Is it easier to have images of God in faiths where God has many forms, eg. The Trinity in Christianity and the many Murtis of Hinduism, whereas in Judaism and Islam God is only seen as one?

Why do Judaism and Islam disagree? If pictures help us to understand, thinking of when we are young we start with picture books, why would Islam and Judaism disagree with anyone creating an image of their God?

Evaluate ‘God cannot be described using words alone.’ Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer, showing that you have thought about More than one point of view. 6 marks Half of the room is going to write a PEEL to agree and the other half is going to write a PEEL to disagree.
