About AV YouthBuild We provide youth with: Academic classes to help them earn a diploma Hands on certificates in construction, solar technology installation nursing and fire cadet training Leadership development Counseling Mentoring The mission of Youth Build is to unleash the intelligence and positive energy of "at potential" youth to rebuild their communities and their lives. We seek to join with others to help build a movement toward a more just society in which respect, love, responsibility, and cooperation are the dominant unifying values, and sufficient opportunities are available for all people in all communities to fulfill their own potential and contribute to the well-being of others.

AVYB Career Tracts AVYB Students who participate in Career Tracts receive Workforce Development training in at least one area. All students will receive NCCER/HBI-PACT Cert. and most will also receive an additional certification in one of the following areas:  Certified Nursing Assistant  Wildland Fire  Construction  Solar Installation. Sample Schedule  2 Days a week career tract (Solar, CNA, Wildland Fire, or Construction,  2 Days a week in Academic classes  1 day a week leadership development (10% Leadership)  1-2 Saturdays per month community development  *Leadership Development includes: Healthy Relationships, Post-Secondary Education, Diversity Training, Drug Prevention, Construction Leadership, Community Speakers etc. **The following is a sample schedule. Each student will receive a 50/40/10 plan.

AVYB SAMPLE SCHEDULE Participant Schedule (DOL, SMART, YouthBuild Academy) September through December all participants focus on Academics and Construction *December interested participants begin Career Exploratory Classes and must attend one to be considered for CNA/SOLAR/WILDLAND FIRE or CONSTRUCTION career tracks.  2 Days a week academic classes plus Academic Review and Make Up on Wednesday (Credits toward high school diploma, 50%)  2 Days a week career tract (Solar, CNA, Wildland Fire, or Construction, 40%)  1 day a week leadership development (10% Leadership)  Integrated across components  1-2 Saturdays per month community development  Leadership Development includes: Healthy Relationships, Post-Secondary Education, Diversity Training, Drug Prevention, Construction Leadership, Community Speakers, Job Readiness, Male/Female Support Groups, etc.

Post-Secondary Outcomes Construction – Signatory Contractors- Local Sub-Contractors- Other local CHDO’s – NCCER & HBI-PACT – Social Enterprise for sustainability and placement: Advancing Communities Together – General Contractor’s License Pending – CHDO- Has been Certified by City of Palmdale. This will allow us to choose construction projects that we can use to hire YB Graduates/Alumni. Antelope Valley College – Wildland Fire Academy (Dual Credit) & English 97/99 dual credits for next year California Department of Forestry/Cal-Fire – Wildland Fire Jobs – Graduates and Alumni Solar – 4 offsite Training sites along with 180 hours of class and hands on training – NABCEP Exam and Certification – Largest Solar Farm in the Country Local Jobs (Local Electrician Union) CNA – 150 hours clinical and classroom training: – State examination and certification
